"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone."
1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Our Parish offers many different opportunities for returning our gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank God, share our faith with others, and enhance our community.
Altar and Rosary Society
The Altar and Rosary Society is open to all Catholic ladies of the Parish. Mission Statement: We are a Catholic women’s organization devoted to reciting the Rosary, assisting with religious and social functions, as well as caring for the altar and Church; always keeping in mind the motto: “To the Greater Honor and Glory of God.”
African-American Multicultural Society: Was formed to bring awareness of our culture, as well as our identity as Black Catholics through celebrations of National Black Catholic Month in November, AIDS Rosary in December, as well as sponsoring a blood drive for AIDS victims and others in need of life-saving transfusions. We host a MLK Celebration in January. We have formed a Gospel Choir that participates in Church-sponsored events. One of our social events is an annual Tea Party. A delegation from our group will be attending the National Black Catholic Bishop's Congress in Indianapolis in July. At present, our spiritual focus is praying for the Canonization of Mother Mary Lange, Father Augustus Tolton, and others who are in the Canonization process. Our group was formed in 2002; we will celebrate 10 years of formation later in the year. New members are welcome. Our meetings are usually the 3rd Sunday of the month at 1:00 PM in the Religious Education Center. For more information, please call Geraldine Jones at 254-526-9950.
