Sacramental Policies
Baptism for Infants: Parents must be registered in the parish for 3 months before Baptism can take place. Baptismal preparation for both parents and godparents is offered on the first Tuesday of the month. Please contact the office for more information.
Baptism for Older Children: Children 6 years of age and older need to be enrolled in our religious education classes. Children in grades three through eight will be enrolled in the process of RCIA (The Rite of Initiation for Adults) adapted for children (RCIC), which includes the other sacraments of First Confession and First Communion.
First Communion: Children need to be enrolled into Religious Education beginning in the 1st grade. They will prepare for First Communion in the 2nd grade and must receive the Sacrament of Penance prior to receiving First Communion.
Confirmation: Confirmation is received in grades nine through twelve. Students need to be enrolled in Religious Education for one year prior to the year of Confirmation. New guidelines from the Bishop's office will be out this summer, which will be implemented next year.
Quinceñeras (This is NOT a Sacrament): Quinceñeras can be celebrated if the young woman or man is presently enrolled in the Religious Education program offered by the parish. He or she must have been confirmed in the Catholic faith or be preparing for Confirmation.

Registration for Religious Education classes takes place in August. Classes begin on the first week in September and end in the first week of May of each year. |
